Ahab Latitudes

The great white whale lurking vast seas abiding waves of awe
Engulfing dreams of mariners assigned forms quite finitely small,
Pursuing monumental phantoms through earthly zones Captains frothing mad
As life long hungry dogs,
From his castle of straw in the crows-nest the visionary beholds
A monstrously scarred face swallowing the horizontal bows of ancient ships
Thrashed, broken and blown aways cross-course into the shallow, daily depths,
Nods his head to mark the starry paths and casts his pith into the roiling foams
Sailors shall tremble under sails of Captains harsh against all terrible unknowns,
Watch as dreamers fall asleep into their worlds each all alone...
