One Wish Angel

Went down to the crossroads
To find an angel in the snow
Flying recon through the storm she was
Fairer than a Grimm fairy child
Sporting a nicotine h a l o,
Said I, " have you always been this high my love?"
"Oh yes know, no not at all, but since you must inquire
One wish I grant thee only one, careful your desire."
"One wish?" I wonderingly replied.
She sighed a sphinx like sigh and pantomimed a smile
Shook out the pine nettles from her Goodwill wings listening as I said
"Oh one wish more 'tis one more than I should have lived so long to get
From a fairy angel in the snow smoking her cigarette."
"No wishes more then so shall it be," said she
Striking a sulphur against the Sun and bursting into flight
Through  contrails of smoke rings I watched her go hastening the Night,
I saw the heavens glow
Like angels in the snow . . .

The read was wistful and lovely. I like the halo of smoke ... it makes the poem very personal and shows your sense of wit.
You create a beautiful world when you write.
