Stunning The Skies

There was a woman that he came to love
When she offered him a smile,
More fair and stunning than the skies above
Her eyes wise Heaven's own style,

A train of years ran swiftly past the gate
Losing track of numbers and the time which flew,
Into the embrace of eternal fate
The winters and summers and the love he knew,

Only grew sad and strange shadows whispering fell
Across the wildly beautiful, mad expanse,
Where ghostly rhythms lost track of truth to tell
Who truly believed there was ever a chance,

Yet some hopes drift like feathers on a river of sun
And some loves never die only weary and sleep,
Until another day comes bringing dreams made for living on
Wrapped in mysterious lines promised to keep,

Like a love that can't be had... may be a little strange to say but the words seem to be describing in a way the anatomy of a sigh a yearning heart feels. Beautiful, really.
