It's So

Once in the faraway and long ago,
Fraught with worlds of various and sunder
There lived a man of mortal span whom did dwell
Deep within a forest glen where trees grew heavens high
For endless years deep within his canopy the sky,
Wandering each and every day or so
If there was anything but thunder
Inside the heart of hearts as legends tell,
Sometimes he thought a voice singing clear
"I am not so far from you now, look and see
Yet I may only love a soul fully free,"
And where was she, it seems he did not know
Once in the faraway and long ago.

A very beautiful story, lovely writing. This poem reminds me of Edith Nesbit's work!
