Child That Has Grown

Why would they bring a child into the world
A babe so helpless lost and small?
What is wrong my Love
Why this song of Love?

Gypsy wanderers spooky ghosts of Life on a nervous road
Stringing children after them to live a haunted caravan of souls,

Who is this child that has grown?

Now she listens to your music
The timbre of your voice when you were once who sang
Long ago
The words and guitars rang with a resonant, quavering control
It is so

Like the world to bewilder all the children and beguile
The hand that is raised to break their hearts
Is the hand that plays Heaven and Hell to create Art,

Why would she
How could he
Be so lost and dark
Leaving such a mark
Upon

A babe so helpless and small
Why this song of Love
What is wrong my Love?

Why would they bring a child into this world

Who is this child that has grown?

A good question. Some terrible things happen to young children in this world and sometimes this is done by their own parents. This is a very moving piece. The gypsy references make it even more sinister in nature. Even though we usually look upon them as being laughing and happy people. Very nice work.

I understand this in some sort of strange way, I guess... makes me feel like some people have much to answer for? I may be completely wrong about my impression, of course, but that's what comes to mind with these words... beautifully written! :) *hugs* xx
