Shining Late

The Light was shining late last night
My candle flickering your name in the wind
blowing the same tune with differing
notes floating in essence of something lost
so that something else might be gained
oh, and it rained so ghostly, ethereal
Just like a thought that sprung ephemerally young
were the sighing summer leaves that sung your name
they were dancing like bright spirits circling 'fore a flame
consuming days and dreams and all beliefs that ever came
Before we go away again back to where
There is everyone and yet no one there
Let me remember something just lost in my mind
A candle flickering your name in the wind
The Light was shining late last night . . .
