Top Secret: Coping was covertly reassigned to the Strange Case of Lance Major Boyles. Stayed tuned for chapters,(or possible captions to follow).
With deep regrets I find myself composing this letter of resignation.
After having spent will nigh over ten years on the case of your missing father I find myself no closer to a solution in this mystery than when we began our association.
Recent events including the sudden demise of many of my contemporaries and contacts in the intelligence community, along with my own failing health and stamina have contributed to my decision retire this investigation to 'Cold Case File Division', perhaps you shall have better success cooperating with my successor in the Department.
Polly, (may I call you Polly, Ms. Nomere?), my official number is being retired and my identity scrambled for reasons which I am not currently at liberty to divulge.
Please understand, the decision is a bit above my pay grade and there is no appealing to the section chief on this one.
So, anon and farewell for now Dear Polly, my best to your mother, that damnable madwoman.
As Ever,
Iconius Benjamin Coping

My Dear Ms. Nomere:With deep regrets I find myself composing this letter of resignation.
After having spent will nigh over ten years on the case of your missing father I find myself no closer to a solution in this mystery than when we began our association.
