A new day, a new light

To say goodbye to my hometown

to exclude myself from its privileges

my sister and her newborn daughter

how gravely they will be missed.

But to find a path that is farther

head in towards dark woods and imagined

hurdles

to be free from comfort

to find my self in the reflection of a puddle

in the stray.

To rescue myself,

to ascend

to find the meaning of me.

In the woods my howl will be crystallized

telling the world my thoughts and fears

mimicking the lust

and gusto

of the music of the spheres

This is powerful in its purpose and yet vulnerable in it's admissions of fears and longing. You create mighty images throughout while conjuring up moods and emotions. So well done. :) kathy

I really like the last lines. This is a great piece. We all need to walk into the wilderness and howl at a certain time in our life.

Reminded me of Robert Frost's poem. Deeply moving and utterly insightful.

A quest, well explained and described. Good luck. I especially liked the image of seeing your reflection in a puddle.

This sounds like the beginning of a very interesting journey. The reflection in the puddle is particularly striking; it seems the writer has a significant desire to discover who he is away from the comforts of home. We also like the idea of howling in the woods, finding a freedom of expression that perhaps isn't possible in any other environment. Applause!
