I hope you enjoy reading this poem

One then Twenty-One

One then Twenty-one

Something soldiers think about everyday
Put on the uniform and say one bullet no way
It's not my turn today.
I'm going home when my tour is done
Patrolling the streets holding my gun
One bullet fired is all it takes
Twenty-one gun salute ,your honor at heavens gate
That knock on the door and families heart sank
Folded up flag and your countries thanks
Stand at attention as they fire the salute
I close my eyes, and see you shining your boots
One bullet fired every minute of every day
You pray that Twenty-one gun salute doesn't happen today
One and Twenty-one numbers no soldier forgets
To all those who gave their lives we owe a great debt

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
Once again you've written very sensitively (and very well) of a difficult subject.
