Wishin' You Were Here

It's a sunny Monday afternoon, I'm sippin' beer out on my deck.
Soft spring breeze blowin' cools the sunshine on my neck.
Leaves are showin' and the flower's growin', I love this time of year.
Everything is beautiful, but my eyes still shed a tear,
I'm so missin' the one I should be kissin', I'm wishin' you were here.

Wishin' you were here, you've been away too long.
To keep from goin' crazy I wrote you this song.
Thank God I have our memories of laughter and good cheer,
Otherwise I'd lose my mind, wishin' you were here.

I hear the happy laughter of the kids playin' next door.
It brings to mind those happy times of days gone on before.
Now the kids are grown and I'm all alone , that's my biggest fear.
I try to be a happy guy, playin' things by ear.
Yet I'm still missin' the one I should be kissin', I'm wishin' you were here.

Wishin' you were here, you've been away too long.
To keep from goin' crazy I wrote you this song.
Thank God I have our memories of laughter and good cheer,
Otherwise I'd lose my mind, wishin' you were here.

I know that you still love me, and Babe, I love you too.
One day, when all is right, I know we will start anew.
So until that day, I'll have to say I lift my glass in cheer.
My mind will sometimes wander, but my heart is yours, my dear.
Yes I am missin' the one I should be kissin', I'm wishin' you were here.

Wishin' you were here, you've been away too long.
To keep from goin' crazy I wrote you this song.
Thank God I have our memories of laughter and good cheer,
Otherwise I'd lose my mind, wishin' you were here.
