On a Hillside
On a hillside, somewhereI will sit between your raised knees
that from a distance
will look like an old man praying
as staying so still, hands holding
as my waves brush your skin
we will stare at vistas
clouds chasing shadows on our eyes
as clues you'll point
where the stars will shine
if we were to stay here until midnight
then plot our way home.
On a hillside, somewhere
which is nowhere short of here
our silhouettes will look
like an old man praying
but the surreptitious kisses
and warm breaths baying
on the smooth curve
on bowed neck with tendrils
winding as the sun rays blinding our eyes
as the sky will fall and the clouds shed tears
the lonely herring gull circling
calling our names
of I was here and you were here
on a hillside, somewhere.
