One of my favorite books: TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
Pondering People Who Kill Mockingbirds
There has been a lot of intake lately of worldly happenings, personal experiences, and accessing values, morality, and a plethora of life's feast and famines which are increasingly stirring my mind with big thoughts and ideas regarding mankind and our relationship to one another and our responsibility as caretakers of this amazing gift of our earth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are mean people in this world. They come in all forms, races, colors, creeds, faiths, beliefs, non-beliefs, and all religions. They are tall, short, fat, thin, male, female and may be bold or shy. As long as they are breathing, some people thrive on being mean. Mean people are the cause of war, famine, abuse, and all things purely evil.
It's such a shame, that so few cause so much heartache, suffering, and pain for the rest of the world. Perhaps I am wrong, but I choose to believe there are more truly kind people in this world than there are mean. It's just that mean people seem to have such determination and are fueled by hatred which is a volatile emotion.
Kindness is softer. It stems from love. Love is powerful. However, love grows while hatred inflames!! I ponder on these things a lot. Being one individual, I can do my part and be kind in my dealings with people as much as possible in my word and deed. Am I perfect in my quest? Hardly. But, in my striving, I hope to leave or somehow influence my small world around me with a bit of love and kindness. It sure is a better way of living and a better way of being in all aspects of health for myself and those I encounter.
Mean people are miserable souls whether they know it or not.
When I leave this world, I hope that my footprints will be ones that will lead to goodness, mercy, kindness, and love. I hope I will inspire others to think on me and smile.
