solemnity in the blink of a day

solemnity in the blink of a day
rushing into a history
of pale bones and fresh dirt

I saw you dancing in a light
enhanced by the short of it
collecting all dues in a goodbye

serenity in a fast dare undoing
the allotted and the unrolling
of any love one man can muster

I saw you folding sheets of light
carrying the final stone
like a badge of honor

***

solitude burning like a wild fire
at the turn of day doing
reeks of old tree tales rolling
like grass in tidal waves

no master plan peekaboo done
can surrender to hands
revealing faces like ghosts
on the end run to another side

Each time I see a poem of yours posted, I wonder what will I discover, what has he to reveal. I am never disappointed. Your poetry cannot be just read; it must be explored. Every line develops a picture, a mood, a scene, an emotion. I applaud your artistic talents and how I am moved by what I see in my mind's eye and how I feel because of it. I've sat alone at the end of the day and thought of these things and life and seen the last folding of light carried away...and I watched this photograph develope.
