FIGHT THE FIGHT

Twisted wreckage, fire and smoke fill the air
Screaming, Crying, soldiers ready, say a prayer
So much death, destruction beyond compare
Sirens screaming down the street
So much death and blood at my feet
Standing guard over a huge hole in the ground
Hundreds of people standing all around
Is this a war we want to continue to fight?
Suicide Attacks, fire fights any time of day or night
Angry stares from people young and old
Patrolling an area not to well controlled
Take a deep breath and one step at a time
Brothers one behind the other to separate lines
Soldiers fight this fight with no peace in site
Why do we keep up this fight?
Soldiers fight together never alone
So many friends never made it home.

Every time I read your battle poetry, I'm so caught up that my heart races and my breathing changes and I feel anxious. That said, you know you are telling a very story very well. ***kathy
