Hidden

Somewhere beneath the fugue,
I felt some emotions true
Through the cracks, I saw
Redness though in wilting hues,
I knew the moment had long since gone
When what that was wished, mattered much
Perhaps we too were prone,
to the very substance that makes
our flesh and bones
To what that governs us to our cells,
and the paradoxes in our minds swell,
The fact, you chose an easier path,
took nothing away from it all,
I remember the pain in your eyes,
Memories like these never die,
Weak, disfigured, abomination or a travesty,
our world together might have been
We are in the end ,just a sum of our beliefs
and the ugliness that lives within our beings.

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
These are difficult thoughts well expressed, and very personal.

It feels like the road not taken. There are the regrets that sneak in from time to time, all the things that just didn't fit right at the time, and those that fit so well. A very elegant poem. Well done,
Ashe
