YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

You fought a war, where you weren't given a choice
The draft was happening, young men had no voice
Fighting in the bush, 8500 miles away
So many soldiers didn't survive the next day
Broken bodies and spirits, no one knows what to say
People don't realize that you relive that time every day
Your buddies names listed on the wall
Bow your head, close your eyes see them fall
You are not forgotten
Forty years later tears run down your face
No soldier ever forgets war or that place
You are not forgotten and never will be
Soldiers fight so we can be free.
Vietnam a place we should have never been
People treated you like fighting for your country was a sin
You fought in a time you weren't given a choice
You are not forgotten we still say today
For all those soldiers, who lost their lives we pray.
