the sadness of unrequited love

One Lover, One Death

O' My Love, do you see my desire?
Do you hear my voice calling softly?
Look for me in the flames of the fire
that burn for you incessantly.
O' My Love, do you feel my yearning
as I lightly stroke down your chest?
Do you know that I am learning
what it is that pleases you best?
O' My heart, do you feel the aching
as my lover leaves me without a care?
I am here only for his taking.
He abandons me alone and bare.
Ride off into the night, Angel Death
Ride, for tomorrow; I'll have no breath.
