MY SOLDIER IN HEAVEN

It gets harder and harder each and every year
I return to the wall and feel your spirit near
You went off to war and never came home
Don't know how I can go on and do this alone
I sit here by your name and ask God why?
Why didn't he protect you, he let you die
My soldier in heaven protecting me from above
I feel your arms around me, all your love
You gave your life to keep us free
There was no other place you would rather be
So much emptiness I have inside
Remembering all the days when you were alive
Smiles appear as tears roll down my face
No more pain and war, you are in a much better place
Sitting on a cloud, uniform clean and pressed
My soldier in heaven, looking his military best
My soldier in heaven I pray to you
You are now at peace I will always love you
