The Rain...It Falls
Rain is something I have never understoodLike shards of crystal, it falls from the heavens
Sometimes, it is welcome...even life saving
Other times, it brings out the worst in everyone
You hear people say "It's so dreary and wet"
"I wish the rain would stop"
Elsewhere, they will say "The rain is a welcome gift"
The earth drinks the drops of life
The rain is never silent, and unrelenting
It can be a quiet patter or a deafening roar
It can be over quick
Torturing and tempting the parched earth
The rain is also deep and long
Soaking down into the thirsty roots
