sort of reminds me of a life I once lived.

A KALEID0SCOPE LIFE

a kaleidoscope life
colored glass of many hues
falling into compartments
built by others to amuse

in hands that belong to another
the kaleidoscope turns on his whim
not for comfort or beauty
but for satisfying only him.

turn that scope you master
turn it while you can
turn it before it collides
and cuts your wicked hands

Zoya Zaidi
What a lovely metaphor of a Kaleidoscope.
Yes, most women live and go through life, according to the 'norms' laid by men for them, norms that suit men and can 'amuse' them. The Irony of the whole situation is, that the women are so 'atuned' to this way of life that they are actually happy about it.
((((Hugs))))
Thanks for this very thought provoking Poem!
Love, xxx, Zoya

How many loving women haven't ever become slaves under a man's whims?
A strong poem about awareness and liberation. And the kaleidoscope image is so creative and effectful!
