Dreaming
If I were a dream, would you bea startling thought in
the subconscious of us.
A stir in the tree
a song in the wind
words spoken without sound,
only a blink in a sky full of stars.
Or if I stood still, would you
stand and hold my hand
letting all the truths
just wash over us
in a dream, just you and I
along a vapour trail
in a never ending quiz of us.
A puzzle of pieces that fit,
some that are wedged
and our hearts mirrored
in identical lockets
to hang just above the pulse
Of you and I and the I of us.
If we were a dream
would it seem ridiculous
falling backwards or forwards
into a cloud of feathers
a North Sea eider dream
an oceans melody
and feelings, oh yes
deep in the feeling of us.
