A Knock on the Door

A knock on the door no one wants to receive
Men in uniform, families grieve
Fought so bravely your soldier did
Your country thanks him for his sacrifice
To give us our freedom, he gave his life
Buried with honors he will receive
His family and brothers continue to grieve
Folded up flag and a generals profound thanks
Tears flow from my eyes, my heart sank
So many soldiers gave their lives
Fathers, sons, brothers and wives
A knock on the door no one wants to receive
Pray your soldier survives, we believe
This war needs to end , so no more families have to grieve
We will never forget those we've lost
Fighting a battles at such a great cose

Too great a cost, I agree. Stop these useless wars!

(I lost a brother and a husband to them, and they were not fighting for my freedom) Go ahead, say it! They fight for some tycoon's greed. Stop doing it.
