inspired by bukowski.

poetic gods

as i read bukowski
and he talks of
waiting for
the arrival of
that last,
precious
sunset,
i lament the fact
that he is dead
and shall never
write
another poem
again

i then ponder the next
generation
of poets:
who will come,
who will go

i guess i'm part of that generation,
the next collection
of poetic gods

I'm not a fan of Bukowski, but I do like this. It's nicely written.

I love Bukowski. I have read all of his works. And, with your poem, imitating the style of Bukowski, you have done justice to the bohemian poetic god. Kudos!
