"It is in colliding with and uniting with other people, you truly learn, and learn about yourself"
when I stepped into
and tried to build my life in
a less privileged world
I only understood my accidental naivety of prejudice
after I chose to stand
love and live
beside you
my magnificent black man
I always knew of my power
and fought against their ideas of weakness
growing up with the gift and compassion
of being able to carry children
But I truly only grew into
the compassion
the vulnerability
the love and the
power
of being woman
In walking beside you

Covalent
I only learned of my unintended privilegewhen I stepped into
and tried to build my life in
a less privileged world
I only understood my accidental naivety of prejudice
after I chose to stand
love and live
beside you
my magnificent black man
I always knew of my power
and fought against their ideas of weakness
growing up with the gift and compassion
of being able to carry children
But I truly only grew into
the compassion
the vulnerability
the love and the
power
of being woman
In walking beside you
