Gulls

Early morning and the gulls gather
I waste my time explaining
ontology and epistemology to them
but they never listen

like all semi-literates
they just repeat the same
arrogant screeches year after year
assuming that replication equals wisdom

There's something very timely about this poem. Nicely done.

I like this, it has a great punch to it, and I also agree; replication must not equal wisdom. It should only be celebrated in songs, like when the Beatles say :
yeah, yeah, yeah.

Perhaps they, the semi-literates, are listening. Perhaps they are incarnations of buddhists monks chanting mantras. Perhaps they reject your ontology and epistemology. Who is the more repetitious?
