Life's Lessons
For years I taught children how to read and write,For years I taught them how to do math,
But I over looked the lessons they taught me.
I have a special place in my heart,
For all the lessons they taught me.
The lessons I learned from them are the life lesson's I value most,
The lessons I learned from them I will treasure the rest of my life,
They taught me to look past one's differences and to accept them for themselves.
This was a lesson my parents tried teaching me,
But looking back on my past I noticed that I didn't do that much.
Working with many different children showed me a whole new love,
Working with these children opened my heart and mind,
I truly thank them for the life's lessons they taught me.
