Happy Day

It's a cheerful day today,
trees peppered the greeness
accentuating blue above,
a tractor mower hums
a spume of cut grass
misting the air with freshness,
the white noise of traffic
is beyond my mind,
an elderly gent with a stick
lifts his face from concentration
saluting the sun,
I breathe in happiness.

I like the creative use of verbs: "peppered," "misting," and "saluting." We need more poetry that is cheerful!
