...I am overcome

When The Whole World Is Marching...

And my heart it grows so weary

And my spirit longs to spread its wings to fly

I write this verse in preparation

As I hear the world moan and cry

Carry on until the marching is over

Until all the songs have been sung

When the flags have been lowered and folded

At the end of days-- at the last setting of the sun

As the skies soften in hues of pastels to mellow

And the air is the purest it's ever been

Take the time to remember and be thankful

For this is the time of change, once again

Rebellion and discontent are harbingers

Of the tumult beneath the mounting clash

But there is a season for all things of purpose

And there is a reason to cling in hope that will last

So lay down your weapons for battle

Put away all words of hatred, sin, and shame

As this day is dying in chaos and confusion

Let's rise in the new morning beneath one flame

We all have the need for togetherness

Division weakens the soul of our might

We are a people seeking the hope of our future

Lifting our voices singing a new song through the night

I pray for the babies of all nations

I pray for the leaders of their lands

I ask that you and I treat each other with kindness

May we all join in peace hand in hand.

A beautiful piece. What will it take and when will it happen? I fear never.

I am deeply touched by your words in this poem. it is time to stop denying the sadness and devastation in our world today.
I also fear for the children of our planet and for each and everyone of us. I will join Ken, and echo Bravo on this one.

Bravo, Kathy. When what ever the war is ended. We find those who were involved. Meet each other, find friends not on the other side. Say, think: '' What the heck was that all about?! '' '' Hear we sit and talking, we'r friends, not foe's, we are friends well met!''
