Varanasi

water like a mirror reflects faces of the dead
in the play of light and shade I melt

time has stopped in the flight to eternity
bodies sail in the cycle of birth and death

river accepts everything
it takes the memory of things

in tranquil breath of reality
I float on the other side

I can fly higher and higher
passing the limits

born from a drop of creation
in the last gasp of life I pass

This is fine writing. I like the way you played the images. And yes, I have been to Varanasi once. Your poem made me recall those forgotten days.

I like the serenity and sense of passage. It presents the emotions of a journey. Very nice ~

Elegant and serene, I feel the life and death and so enjoyed your third stanza. I have visited Varanasi and this piece captures the ethos of this special place.
