electrified

Dangling Wires

When fireflies burst into flames

When cocoons wallow in moth-eaten wings

When the stones of the dead split the earth

When spirits rise in after-birth

When the sun turns dark as the night

And all the world rebels to fight

That's the time of unspoken pain

Flowing down in torrent rain

Rising up in drowning floods

Quenching thrist through innocent blood

Monsters suckle at mother's breast

Feed their passion in father's nest

Sons and daughters forge their tools

Hacking axes on apatheic fools

While attacking fascists as fascist they be

Carrying flags of oppressive weaponry

Muting language of difference with hate

Spreading lies and closing all gates

Teacher puppets on dangling wires

Performing artist with arsonist fires

Burning the villages

Arousing the mass

Hijacking the minds of the intellectual class

Open your mouth, your eyes, and your ears

The media tell you what and whom you shall fear

It is a time of magicians, of the great pretend

It is the time to listen and the time to never give in!

I agree this is a powerful call to reason. I am reminded me of the line "in the kingdom of the blind the one-eyed man is king". In these tumultuous days we must be careful of what we understand to be true and how we react. Both of these things have the potential to do so much social damage. A brilliant piece.

I now believe in possession.

What I really believe is than within each of us are voices begging to be let loose. Something has been let loose with force and certainty, an electric jolt.

What a powerful call to arms, Kathy. I especially relate to the last two lines!
