A Winters Sleep...

A Winters Sleep

The shoulders I leaned on
Are far away this day,
But as I gather quiet pauses
Covered in summers sun,
I speak to you in silence,
As you nestle again, beside my soul.

We collected and mused about our dreams
In soft spun silk, smooth as love,
And found ourselves wandering
Submerged in ourselves
Like dolphins dancing
On summers glistening waves.

Smiles unseen, and kisses we shared
While our foundations strained and hurt,
As we collected our memories
To ponder the musings we dared to say
As hedgehogs nestled for a winters sleep,
We keep each other alive in our dreams.

Memories of places been and steps taken have led to the place one stands today. And treasured be each footprint left upon the heart of one.

Such a beautiful and caring piece. A pleasure to read. ~Pam

This is such a sweet, touching and beautiful poem. You described the way love feels so simply, which I admire, because people tend to overcomplicate emotions such as those. Well done!
