Filled My Heart
That laughter filled my heartIt lifted me up into places
I never wished to part.
Yet when it left it broke
My heart
Ripped those heights from
Under me. Tearing
Them apart.
I never dared to envision
Such light would bless
My dark existence.
Yet there it was present and
Persistent
Armed with a silver tounge
And innocent guise
Those words spoken as truth
Easily shifted to lies.
Such a proud warrior
How did i not see this
The danger underneath
I should have anticpated
This cunning knife
Inside its sheath
That laughter filled my heart
Filled my cracks
Covered the scars.
Yet when it left
It all fell apart. Im left
In this crumbling facade
Stumbling blind
Inside the dark
