metaphor or not, you decide.

Petals On A Shelf

Are you loving me today
as you pass along your way,
noting others in their bloom,
while I'm locked up in your room?

Wilting with your neglect,
in the mirror I reflect,
a fleeting love of darkest doom,
as I cry here in your room.

With no sun upon my face,
all my beauty is erased.
Smell the essence of my perfume
as it lingers in your room.

My fragrance fading into air,
your lack of tender loving care
has resulted in a rose's gloom
because I sigh here in your room.

See the petals on this shelf;
one by one I lose myself.
I'm alone in this empty tomb
as I die here in your room.

Oh such desolate gloom. I say get out and enjoy the day for oh there is so much beauty in participation. Wait no more......
Truly though, these are very real feelings that many of us have, had, or will have as our hearts long for that loving caress and moment of attention paid. Verynicely expressed. A pleasure to read. ~Pam

The imagery on this piece is amazing. I couldn't have written it better myself.

"One by one i lose myself..."

That's so beautiful.
