September by Ann Wood

SEPTEMBER

And in time, and suddenly,
September is back again.
Breaks walnut. Grapes eat.
Two blackberries find herself.

And the bush dries it
with the claw. Branch is broken.
Suddenly the night grew.
Summer smokes and ends.

The wind blows and flies
shadows of leaves and birds.
Ruby sand spiders
in the corners knit slippers.

Beautiful cadence, compelling diction, some novelty of phrasing, superlative specificity: a marvel and a poem to cherish. Thank you for posting it!
