Robert Frost, 1874 - 1963

Dust of Snow

The way a crow

Shook down on me

The dust of snow

From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart

A change of mood

And saved some part

Of a day I had rued.

I like this, too, and it brings to mind a Jack London story: "To Build a Fire."

I was 11 years old, in Mr Waldron's 7th-grade English class, when I first encountered this beautiful poem. It's stayed with me for the subsequent 38 years and counting!
