"Sumer Is Icumen In"was parodied as "Ancient Music" by the American poet Ezra Pound (Wikipedia)

Ancient Music

Winter is icummen in,

Lhude sing Goddamm.
Raineth drop and staineth slop,
And how the wind doth ramm!
Sing: Goddamm.

Skiddeth bus and sloppeth us,
An ague hath my ham.
Freezeth river, turneth liver,
Damn you, sing: Goddamm.

Goddamm, Goddamm, 'tis why I am, Goddamm, So 'gainst the winter's balm.

Sing goddamm, damm, sing Goddamm.
Sing goddamm, sing goddamm, DAMM.

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
if i'm to have a tune in my head, i prefer 'Sumer is Icumen,' and if i want to listen to someone sing 'godamm,' then let it be Nina Simone ('Mississippi Goddamn').

but this is fun in its own sarcastic way. pound was a barrel of laughs.

you come up with great poems for us. thank you.
