mining my mind

Just A Thought

I always thought I would have more answers
than questions when I grew up.
I kept hope in my yesterdays
for peace of mind in my tomorrows.
But now, yesterday's hopes have faded
and I live in the tomorrows, today.

Maybe, wisdom is learning that answers
are not the purpose of questions.

There's hope in that.

And an interesting thought at that. Someone sent me a meme that said "I did not want to grow up, I just wanted to reach the cookie jar". Maybe there are no real answers. And that's okay too. Great poetry makes you think.

Your poem is well written and thought provoking, Kathy. I believe that questions are the waypoints to a fulfilling life. Hope lights the path.

I follow your logic and concur—life is tough and hope is eternal. I love the language of this, your voice.

As soon as when we are abull - as a child
We start asking questans
We reaceve awncers
We offton say a flow up questan - BUT WHY?
We - on reching age - MUST NEVER STOP QUESTANING!
WE - must follow up with - with - '' BUT WHY? ''
Till we are have past asking!
