this is a dark one referring to pieces of my life

Quilts and Guilt

quilts and guilt
patience and shame
a million voices
whispering my name

pieces of life
torn into shreds
a billion eyes
focused and dead

towering steeples
bended knees
bloodied memories
whimpering pleas

closeted chaos
muffled to stone
grays to granite
left all alone

lost in silence
buried in remorse
suffocate and suffer
leaving no recourse

shadows darken
swollen and vile
tall in oppression
masked in a smile

quilted comforts
wrapped in guilt
sewn together
with threads of silk

There's a fluidity and pleasant singability to this that is a counterpoint to the dark theme. Well done, Kathy!

Beautiful rhymes. So delightful. Our life's tapestries are bright and dull in places, but always meaningful.

Yes, we agree with otp and Bibek. The imagery is powerful, Kathy, and we like the rhymes too :>)

Very delightful and secure in cadence. Love the gentle, calm rhythm of the poem.

It isn't hard to consume oneself with such feelings, as if what is is due to fault rather than circumstance. The mind whorls and cycles the same awful thoughts, and this you've poetically captured.
