Shadows on the Wall
the joy of seeinga no-one in the mirror
no magical powers
no spirituality
no moral arrogance
no secrets
background phantoms flicker by
ephemeral entities
bearing the terrible burden
of magical pseudo explanations
(the inverse-square law
criminally bracketed)
secure in the flickering darkness
of platonic caves
flocking together
finding comfort
in the infantile totemism
that fuels the worship
of mediocre mechanical shadows
reflected on the wall
