April 21, 2019.
build it beautiful, break it badly
every boy writes poetry, i'm convinced
they can smear your lipstick like fresh ink,
rip your clothes like college ruled paper,
and sometimes when they are done,
they wad you up like paper into a small ball and dispose of you
some can still feel the stanzas written along their necks
oh, but every girl can sculpt
build you up, chisel you into marble for idolization
watch it get vandalized to the point they have to destroy the art that kept them alive
and then crave for it desperately at the end of the night
reaching their sweaty palms up towards the ceiling,
trying to catch even the hint of dust from dried clay
i've never seen anything quite like it
what a beautiful fate, yet so much of a waste
we are all just artists with muses
to create something so beautiful, but to be capable of throwing it all away
