spiritually superior
the army of the rising sun
performed their meditations
and received blessings
from their gods

the massacre went on
for six weeks
door-to-door
dragging out
women, children
infants & babies
violently gang-raping them

once they'd finished
they murdered the victims
unrepentant & unpunished
they went nonchalantly on
with their lives

safe in the knowledge
that the karmic balance
remains intact
