In memory of  The Lastromantichero, a very special friend and poet.

The Days of Scotland

When the winter falls into Spring

And Summer's heat flames Autumn's embers

To roast the season's harvest in late September,

I'll remember the days of Scotland.

You've imparted a beautifully haunting resonance to that last line. It makes one gently imagine "the days of Scotland" and their specially graced significance, known perhaps only to the poet and to the absent one addressed.

Thank you for sharing this lovely remembrance.

Lastromantichero was before our time too; we shall have to visit his page to read his poems. This is a beautiful piece, Kathy :>) <3

A lovely memory, I remember him, his beautiful poetry and you. So much love and emotion poured into these four lines.

He was before my time on poetbay, but I've seen his name in countless comments in poems posted before 2009 or so, and that you and he must have had, clearly had, a very special relationship.

These four lines are a beautiful remembrance.
