found in my drafts - what the goodness, I thought I would give it air :-) Celebrating having the first vaccination and so far no horns have appeared!

earthquake

It is just a frisson of fear,
a slight ripple in the water glass,
I feel you,
I feel your eyes boring
but I hold my snood high
while inside
my beat skips,
does a little leap;
I see you
and a tremor
sprinkles rain drops
they run
on the windshield of my life,
the protective cover
I shroud myself
in, scented
so the essence of fear
is undetectable
and the quake passes
just a crack
in a perfect fissure
of a fault line
mine

Fabulous poem, so glad you gave it an air. Had the first vaccination, one down and one to go.

Wonderful poem and wonderful photo! I love the geologic tone of this, it's highly apt and unique.

Martha and I fully vaccinated.

I love the un-everyday word "snood." And I like the form, here, the measured, deliberate pacing.

And I was vaccinated (part 1 of 2) yesterday.

This certainly defines most of us as we line up for ours. Mine comes in about two weeks.
