It's Getting Crazy
It's crazy and getting crazier, shoppers in hazmat suits
carrying armfuls of deluxe
lavatory paper and pasta;
this is what the world runs on
multicoloured spiral shells
with a bourguignon of paper towel,
just for bulk you understand.
900 private school boys
and one with a mask
Saint Jean De La Salle
stands, his lofty presence
and by his feet, sanitiser
and baby wipes
It's getting crazy
or are we just slightly distorted
and this, our new reality
a penance from winter tans.
I hug, you hug
but only at a safe distance
soon we'll be flicking tape measures
and wearing latex gloves
makes a guy in a hazmat suit
seem quite normal now.
