on the window sill 

And asked 

‘What is this?’

‘Pencil’

‘No, Penicillin!’

Then he got me a pen

‘Pen?’

‘No, watch!’

He imitated 

a magic ‘whoosh’ 

hiding the pen 

behind his back.

‘Pentagon!’

Again with the same pen

Pointing at the wall

‘Penwall?’

I look confused.

‘Penumbra, you idiot!’

Then the pen 

As a bookmark

For a Bible

‘Penny wise!’

‘Penpal!’
