I first flirted with poety along with my late brother and our mothers encouragement. He had been a member of a poet site and I found here looking for some of his poems. I'm forever glad that I did.

The harbour that is Poetbay (15 years-challenge)

On a tidal wave of emotions
I was washed on to the bay
Following in the shadow of another
Who found light before the darkest day

A familiar name and well read words
Ricky Kesner had known my brothers art
A kindly shoulder to cry on, perhaps
A guiding light with open Heart

So many took time to show the way
Esti-d, Kathy Lockhart and such,
Zoya and the Last romantic hero
Guided me with such gentle touch

And Poetry became my lifetimes dream
Gerard had laid the path so well
Though I could never equal him
Am I a poet? Only time can tell

To Mr Williams and Liz Munro
My thanks are eternal and true
Encouraging me when my mind ran dry
I owe so much to the both of you

There are so many other stars of note
In this cosmos that is the Bay
Each took my virtual hand a while
And cheerfully led me along the way

From those early adolescent days
You brought me into the here and now
A million thanks seems not enough
I applaud you all, please take your bow!

A fabulous piece of work on so many levels: a tribute to your brother, acknowledgement of many members here on PoetBay, rising to the poetic challenge and your own well crafted poetry. The title says it all, The Bay is a safe and sheltered harbour for us all.
