An English Sonnet....About Love...

Love

Should love belong to just the very young?

When all can feel the warmth of lovers touch.

Sweet memories of younger loves have clung,

but they were not the ones I loved so much.

The one I vowed to share for all my life.

I met when I was almost past my prime.

We fell in love and I became his wife.

Our lives were full, and joy would only climb.

For many years our love was strong and true.

True love can come no matter what the age,

and it will come someday for all of you.

School fantasies are from another page.

Most of my life has passed as we are old.

My greatest love was much like sparkling gold.

As Shakespeare in one of his last Sonnets says:
"LOVE IS TOO YOUNG TO KNOW WHAT CONSCIENCE IS"
Love is always young, it never dies, never grows old...in fact love keeps us young.
It gives the much needed rtenderness and fleibility to us...

"Love matures the young,
And keeps the Mature young!"

Vow Victoria, that has become a quote!
I must write a poem opn that...

Thanks for the inspiration!

Here I go, see you a poem later>>>>
