inspiration that came after reading a story by Damon.
(my grandparents were very old and I never was able to sit upon their knees and have stories told to me. However, I do enjoy holding my grandchildren and telling them stories. They call me, "

Grandchild and Granddad

I want to be your grandchild and sit upon your knee
and listen as you tell your tall tales forever, endlessly.
I know I would never leave, for your words would hold me there.
Me sitting on your lap while you are relaxed in your favorite chair.
I would lay my head upon your chest
and rest there for a long good while
and you would continue talking and your face would hold a smile.
grandchild and granddad a wonderful time together
a world that comes alive
when one generation holds another.

I'm with Teala here....I don't have any such memories either....
I just lost my last grandparent - You make me wistful for never being able to make these last memories with him.
((hugs))
Arti.
