Moments before death

In the moments before death
I want to say the truth
but I do not know what it is.

And then I realised that
every moment
is a moment before death.

Far sighted observation, this. I confess to saying what I felt the person I was with (in their dying moments) wanted to hear. My intent was kindness. I think too, it was one form of expressing love.
