A stranger within

A Stranger
Within my home
My home coming
Brutishly turned a fight
From a fleeting flight
I, long ago saw coming

With melancholic gaze
Upon the greenery
Around the Niger river
Calmness of the scenery
Envelope my soul
In the wee hours of dawn

Jerking of the vehicle
Jerk me back to reality
A reality of broken bond
An end to filiality
Brother, now a stranger

And, just before the 'croak' crows
Darkness and damnation, beckons
The dust at dusk
So, so be it the beast
For the foe of a fellow
Is the stranger within

I identify with your poem, especially like these lines:

An end to filiality
Brother, now a stranger

and

And, just before the 'croak' crows
Darkness and damnation, beckons
